From Party Pool to Family Pool: A Custom Pool Remodel Designed for the Next Chapter

The best remodeling projects aren’t just about updating finishes. They’re about creating spaces that better fit the way families live. This custom pool remodel transformed an entertainment-focused backyard into a family-friendly sports pool designed for years of everyday enjoyment.

Designing Around the Homeowner’s Lifestyle

The original pool featured a sunken outdoor kitchen and bar that had served the homeowners well for years. As their family grew and their priorities changed, they wanted more open swim space where everyone could enjoy the pool together.

By removing the sunken kitchen and bar stools, we created a spacious sports pool that maximized the swimming area while completely changing how the backyard functions. Sometimes the best remodel isn’t about adding more. It’s about designing smarter.

Making Smart Investments

One of the biggest misconceptions homeowners have about remodeling is that everything has to be replaced. That simply isn’t true.

For this project, the existing coping was still in excellent condition. Instead of replacing it unnecessarily, we incorporated it into the new design. This allowed the homeowner to invest more of their budget into upgrades that would have a greater impact while still achieving a completely refreshed look. Helping homeowners make informed decisions like these is an important part of every remodeling project.

Updated Materials Create a Fresh Look

Several key upgrades completely transformed the appearance of the pool. New glass mosaic waterline tile, updated split-face fire bowl columns, Salt & Pepper Stonescapes Mini Pebble plaster, an in-pool table with an umbrella sleeve, and multiple umbrella sleeves throughout the deck all contributed to a fresh, modern design.

The result is a brighter, cleaner pool with a timeless aesthetic that’s ready for many more years of family memories.

Functional Features That Add Value

Every feature in this remodel was selected with purpose. The in-pool table creates a place to gather without leaving the water, while multiple umbrella sleeves allow shade to be added wherever it’s needed throughout the day.

The fire bowls offer year-round flexibility, serving as decorative planters during the summer before easily converting back into fire features during the cooler months. These thoughtful details create a backyard that’s as practical as it is beautiful.

Remodeling Is About More Than Appearance

A successful remodel should improve the way you use your home. By listening to the homeowners’ changing needs, preserving quality materials where it made sense, and investing in meaningful upgrades, this project became much more than a cosmetic update.

It became a backyard designed for the next chapter of family life.
